Jean-Louis Peta Ikambana is the Director of the American Friends Service Committee's Youth in Human Rights program in Washington, D.C.

In Washington, D.C. the 2009 march for affordable housing was partially organized by housing advocates and homeless members of the the DC Human Rights City steering committee.

Through Tostan's work in Senegal, the town of Thies (250,000) has become a human rights city. A prison program that teaches human rights to staff, inmates and their families helps former inmates to re-unite with their families once they are released. Their stories are recorded for national radio broadcast.
